Ackmore to Zwingle Home Series Names Glaciofluvial (Outwash) Sediments
- Sands or gravels within 150 cm of surface.
- Occurs as supraglacial deposits on uplands (Dows Formation, Morgan Member).
- Also underlies late Wisconsinan terraces, comprising the Henry Formation (Mississippi valley)
and Noah Creek Formation (other Iowa valleys).
- On terraces, a surface mantle of eolian sediments or fine-grained DeForest Formation sediments may be
overlie the coarse sediments.
- NRCS Map Units for these series occur on stream terraces, glacial lake or till plains,
outwash plains, upland drainageways
